Entries are now open for the 2016 Eurobodalla Mayor’s Writing Competition. Now in its eighth year, the annual event encourages young people aged between five and 18 years to enter their stories for a chance to win prizes and see their work published in an anthology alongside other winning entries.

Mayor Lindsay Brown says that the judges will be looking for stories that are imaginative and have a unique plot.

“There is no theme, your story can be about anything,” said Clr Brown. “We just want young people to get writing, be creative and have fun!”

Entries closes on Wednesday 11 May at 5pm and the competition will be judged by a panel that includes members of the Eurobodalla Writers' Group.

The Mayor will announce the winners in each category at a ceremony in the Council Chambers in Moruya on Thursday 30 June 2016. Finalist stories in each age category will receive a copy of the Mayor’s Writing Competition Anthology 2016.

The competition is open to young people who live or go to school in Eurobodalla. The five age categories this year are 5-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15 and 16-18 years.
