Eurobodalla Mayor Lindsay Brown has welcomed Friday’s announcement by Member for Bega Andrew Constance of further funding for the Rosedale and Guerilla Bay sewerage scheme.
The NSW Government’s Country Towns Water Supply and Sewerage Program is providing $2.48 million to install a pressure sewer scheme in the two villages, which involves individual pump units on each property and associated mains to take sewage to a new pump station.
The pump station was also funded by the NSW Government and should be complete by June.
Council has received more than $3.76 million from the NSW Government for the $8.5 million project.
Work on the installation of the scheme in Rosedale and Guerilla Bay will start by March and take 12-18 months to complete. Council has engaged Sydney-based contractor Ledonne Constructions for the project.
Homes in Rosedale and Guerrilla Bay currently have individual onsite sewage management systems.
Mayor Lindsay Brown says the sewerage scheme is designed to cater for future development at Rosedale and Guerilla Bay over the next 25 to 30 years.
‘Once complete, the new scheme will meet current demand and have capacity for future residential development,’ he said.
‘We greatly appreciate the NSW Government's partnership and the support of Andrew Constance to get this important project up and running.’
