Council will investigate options to replace Cadgee Bridge near Nerrigundah after it was washed away in last week’s flash flooding.

Flood waters lifted two thirds of the bridge off its foundations last Wednesday, leaving the timber structure mostly intact further downstream in Gulph Creek.

Council has notified the NSW Government and will seek emergency funding for its replacement.

Council is investigating bridge reconstruction options, which may include an upgrade of the bridge. When this has been finalised Council will be able to estimate how long it will take to build the new bridge.

Works to salvage the bridge and make the remainder safe will start soon.

The alternative route for drivers is via Nerrigundah Mountain Road, through Nerrigundah.
