The pedestrian strip along Batemans Bay’s Beach Road from the CBD to Batehaven shops is the subject of a study that will help Council identify and prioritise potential upgrades to the busy area.
Pedestrians, cyclists, and people who use wheelchairs or motorised scooters along the 3.5 kilometre pedestrian strip are invited to complete a short, anonymous survey that is open until 5 February 2016. Event organisers who use the path as a venue will also be contacted to provide their feedback.
The survey asks path users to specify where and how often they use the path, how the path benefits them, and what improvements they’d like to see.
Council will use the feedback to develop a Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan, known as a PAMP.
The PAMP will identify any potential upgrades to the pedestrian strip and allow Council to seek NSW Government funding using evidence and input from community users.
NSW Roads and Maritime Services is supporting Council in the preparation of the plan.
Council has mailed a copy to residents, property owners, businesses and event organisers within the study area this week.
