This Saturday’s Mayor’s Annual Charity Ball is once again shaping up to be an outstanding event with tickets sold out for the third year running.

Mayor Andrew Willcox said he’s overwhelmed, yet not surprised at the strong community and business response to supporting this charity event and RACQ CQ Rescue.

“There has been a lot of anticipation in the lead up to this year’s Charity Ball and its really exciting to see this translate into a sell-out event and more importantly, an extremely high amount of event sponsors” Mayor Willcox said.

“The local business community have really thrown their support behind this charity with 35 businesses committing to one of three levels of sponsorship and many more providing in-kind support, cash donations, items for the live Auction and vouchers for the Treasure Chest.

“I’d like to offer my sincere thanks to all sponsors, particularly our Platinum Sponsors; Whitsunday Civil, McKay’s Solicitors North Queensland, Hillery Group and PDM, as well as our Gold and Silver Sponsors.

“The generous and valued support of Whitsunday businesses, through sponsorship and donations, is an integral part of the continuing success of this charity event.

The black-tie event will see attendees treated to a three-course meal featuring the best our local produce has to offer, a premium beverage package, a live charity auction, live entertainment by sought-after band - Hamilton, and a mega-fireworks display.

Last year’s Mayor’s Charity Ball raised a staggering $88,000 for RACQ CQ Rescue and Mayor Willcox hopes to provide yet another sizeable donation again this year.
