Expand your reading experience with Crime, Coffee and Cake

Sunraysia residents are invited to a night of Crime, Coffee and Cake as part of a very special event at Mildura Library next month.

Crime, Coffee and Cake encourages local bookworms to read one or both of two select crime fiction novels over the next few weeks ahead of a facilitated group discussion about the books next month.

The two books are Chris Hammer’s Scrublands, and Sue Williams’ Murder with the Lot.

The group discussion, appropriately accompanied by free light refreshments including Coffee and Cake, will be held at the Mildura Library on Tuesday 20 August at 7pm.

Councillor for Arts and Culture Jason Modica said Crime, Coffee and Cake was a fun and social way to enjoy two great crime fiction novels while building new relationships in the community with like-minded people.

“This is a great concept that allows us to get so much more out of our reading,” Cr Modica said.

“You’ll often find that people take different meanings from the same novel, and Crime, Coffee and Cake is a magic way to explore this.

“It’s also a fantastic way to celebrate passages or parts of a novel that are universally loved in a group setting.”

Both books are available from Council’s libraries.

People interested in taking part in this free event should visit their local library now and ask for either of the two featured books.
