Share your views on litter and illegal rubbish dumping

Wellington Shire Council is encouraging its residents to share their views, concerns and priorities about litter and illegal dumping in the region through Resource Recovery Gippsland’s online survey.

Residents are encouraged to share their thoughts on litter hotspots, how illegal dumping may have impacted on them and ideas on prevention.

The results of the survey will help develop a Regional Litter and Illegal Dumping Plan that will include several actions to tackle the top five concerns.

The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete, is confidential and anonymous and individual responses will be collated and analysed as group data. As an incentive, participants can provide their email address or phone number (which is kept separate to the survey responses) to enter a draw to win a $100 gift card (for use anywhere that takes EFTPOS).

Wellington Shire Council Mayor Alan Hall said Council often received reports of illegal dumping and general litter, which was a blight on our beautiful landscapes.

“No-one likes seeing rubbish dumped in their favourite places around Wellington,” he said.

“I strongly encourage everyone to have their say in this survey, so we can take your views on board when developing the Regional Litter and Illegal Dumping Plan.”
