Gympie Regional Council is calling on residents to have their say on the Draft Gympie Region Tourism Strategy.
The purpose of the Tourism Strategy is to provide clear direction on what is needed now and into the future to deliver a vibrant, dynamic and compelling visitor destination and a thriving, buoyant tourism industry generating even greater economic and social prosperity for the Gympie Region.
The strategy is underpinned by the Gympie Regional Council Corporate Plan 2017- 2022, the Gympie Region Tourism Discussion Paper 2018 and the Gympie Region Economic Development and Investment Strategy 2019 – 2024. Council have worked with tourism operators, key stakeholders and the general public to develop the draft strategy.
Tourism Portfolio Councillor Daryl Dodt said the strategy provides Council with a broad and solid foundation for the promotion and experience of our region. “We have drawn from all corners of the region and all walks of life to deliver a vision of who we are and where we want to be.”
“We have put our region under the microscope, seen our strengths and considered our future prospects.” “This strategy provides the catalyst to ignite the ongoing aspirations of our community’s visions and insights,” said Cr Dodt.
