Cessnock City Library is set to benefit from a record boost in funding, with the State Government delivering $36.5 million in funding to NSW public libraries in 2019/20.
The NSW State Budget announcement will see a total of $60 million in additional funding going to public libraries over four years. Cessnock City libraries are receiving a $64, 022 funding increase.
Cessnock City Council’s, Library Services Co-ordinator, Rose-marie Walters welcomed the increase.
“This additional funding will make a huge difference in helping our library to better meet the growing demands of our readers and communities.”
“We are always looking for new ways to engage with the community and offer them experiences. Our libraries are important community hubs and we need to continue to invest in them.”
