Cessnock City Council would like to advise the closure of the Cessnock Civic Indoor Sports Centre for a two week period in the upcoming school holidays starting Monday 8 July and finishing Friday 19 July 2019.
The centre will be undergoing planned maintenance to the stadium flooring totalling $44,000 as part of Council’s Recreation Buildings Renewal Program.
Renewal of the floors and line marking will ensure the ongoing safety and functionality for user groups. Roller derby line marking will be added to the existing flooring, which currently has basketball, netball, futsal and volleyball markings. It’s welcome news for roller derby participants who hire the facility for training.
Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent said it’s great to deliver repairs and upgrades to this important community facility.
“We have so many user groups enjoying this space every week and we are pleased to undertake flooring works that allow for the continued enjoyment of the space.”
