Park upgrade works at Veterans Memorial Park, Aberdare will commence at the end of July, which will see some significant improvements to the reserve.
Our youngest residents will be happy to hear they’ll be getting a new playground and a children’s bike path to enjoy. The works will also include the construction of shelters, the installation of seating, BBQ facilities and landscaping works.
Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent said the upgrade to Veterans Memorial Park was identified as a priority for Council.
“The park is a popular spot for local families and Council is excited to deliver this project. The works will impact access to the park during construction and we thank everyone for their patience during the upgrade. Residents are encouraged to check out other local parks including McFarlane Street, Cessnock or George Jeffery Park, Kearsley during the construction period.”
Council was successful in receiving grant funding under the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund for this important community project. To keep up to date on this project keep an eye out on our website and social media for updates.
