Congratulations to Council's Road Works Manager, Adrienne Pierini.
On Thursday 6 June 2019 the Office of Local Government hosted their 12th annual Ministers’ Awards for Women in Local Government.
The awards were established in 2008 to recognise the outstanding efforts of women at the grassroots level of government in metropolitan and rural/regional councils. The awards recognise women in leadership roles, those challenging the status quo in traditionally male dominated jobs, and female trainees and apprentices.
The Minister for Local Government, Shelley Hancock, recognised the efforts of 22 women from across the state, presenting the awards at the official ceremony at NSW Parliament House in Sydney. Shelley said “the calibre of the nominations this year was simply outstanding and these women should all be proud of the amazing ways in which they are serving their communities."
Earlier this year Council nominated Adrienne Pierini (Roads Works Manager) for the ‘women in non-traditional roles’ category – and she won!! For the full winners list, see link below.
As you can see from the attached nomination, Adrienne is a highly valued and respected employee of Cobar Shire Council and has worked really hard to accomplish all that she has achieved to date.
Congratulations Adrienne, this is a well-deserved Award, we are really proud to have you as an inspirational leader in our organisation and excited to support you to continue to grow and succeed.
