Residents are reminded that Central Tablelands Water (CTW) General Manager, Mr Gavin Rhodes, has advised that due to the prolonged drought and the storage at Lake Rowlands continuing to fall, Council resolved at its June Council meeting to implement Level 3 water restrictions for the entire CTW supply network effective from 1 July 2019. Level 3 restrictions consists of an “odds and evens” system under which watering of gardens and lawns is permitted only every second day between the times of 7am to 10am and 4pm to 7pm, with the use of microsprays, drip systems and soaker hoses only.  Additional approval has been granted by Council for the use of a hand held trigger hose for up to 1 hour per allocated watering day to water gardens only. CTW will continue to closely monitor the inflows into Lake Rowlands and long term rainfall forecasts of the Bureau of Meteorology.  All information pertaining to the requirements of Level 3 Water Restrictions is available on CTW’s website at www.ctw.nsw.gov.au or by contacting the CTW administration office on Ph 6391 7200.

Council has recently received advice providing detail on the State Government’s public library funding increases that commence this financial year. The total funding for this year is a record $36.478m.

The increase for Weddin Shire totals $69,428 which will assist Council to meet the demand for more library services for our community, for example increased collection spaces, technology and programs which is great news for our library and residents.

Council has been advised that we have again been invited to be a provider of the Department of Human Services Access Point Services via the Grenfell Internet Centre for the period commencing 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020.  The provision of this service has been operating well and is another example how our Council is proactively collaborating with other levels of government to ensure access to and the continuation of services within the Weddin Shire.

Residents are hereby advised that the Henry Lawson Festival Workshop which was to be held on Tuesday 30 July, 2019 has been postponed until after the Festival AGM in October to allow any new office bearers or Committee members input into the future direction of the festival.
