A group of community campaigners tackling the desperate need for a youth crises accommodation centre in both Frankston City and Mornington Peninsula is calling for the community stand up and join the fight.

There are 220 young people homeless every night in Frankston and Mornington Peninsula in need of safe, stable and affordable accommodation.

The Youth2 Campaign is on a mission to put a roof over their heads.

The first stage of their plan is to build and operate two supported crisis accommodation facilities with 24/7 active staffing near youth services in Frankston and Rosebud.

The second stage is to build and operate a Youth Foyer connected with educational providers.

Youth2 Campaign is holding a BBQ where the community is invited to sign a petition calling for government action to make their plan a reality.

When: Wednesday 7 August Time: 1pm to 2pm

Where: Outside Youth Central / Frankston Library, 60 Playne Street, Frankston.
