They’ve performed with the likes of artists such as Tom Jones, Joe Cocker, Barry Manilow, Tina Arena and Human Nature – and now the Daryl McKenzie Big Band are coming to Karralyka for a special performance in August.
The band, led by trombonist and composer Daryl McKenzie, features former members of the Victoria Police bands alongside some of the country’s foremost jazz musicians.
This talented ensemble was once the house band on the Nine Network’s Hey Hey It’s Saturday, performing with international artists such as Tom Jones, Tommy Emmanuel, James Morrison, Debra Byrne and Marcia Hines, just to name a few.
The band has also featured on the soundtracks of several films, such as Bran Nue Dae, Strange Bedfellows, After the Rain, and AFI award-winning scores Bootmen and La Spagnola.
Together with three talented vocalists, prepare to be thoroughly entertained by an uplifting program of swing music from the big band era, show tunes and even some great rock and roll, as part of Karralyka’s Toe Tapping Tuesday series.
Please join in the Toe Tapping Tuesday morning tea from 9.45am, which is included in the show cost.
