Earlier this year Council was fortunate enough to receive $2.97M in funding from the Queensland Government’s Works for Queensland (W4Q) initiative.
The W4Q program supports regional Councils to undertake job-creating infrastructure projects.
Council has chosen to use the W4Q funding on 14 priority projects. Of these projects, $400,000 will be allocated to our open spaces.
Work will include:
All ability access to the lookout and landscaping improvements at Rotary Lookout Boundary definition and access improvements at Macrossan Camp Area Drainage improvements and asphalt overlay at Centenary Park Carpark and Defiance Mill ParkA further $150,000, which is also fully funded by Works for Queensland, will be used to replace the playground equipment and install exercise equipment at Centenary Park.
One of Council’s priorities is to create a sustainable future for our Region through the maintenance of our infrastructure. Having this funding available allows us to undertake our key actions, as outlined in the Corporate Plan 2018 – 2023, to focus on improving maintenance of our infrastructure.
All projects will be undertaken and completed within the next 2 years.
