Eglinton Sewer Infrastructure Works

The Eglinton sewer infrastructure upgrade is planned to commence on Monday, 29 July. There will be construction activities along Rankens Bridge and surroundings for approximately four weeks, including weekends. The Eglinton bound lane on the bridge will be closed for approximately 1 week during the construction with traffic control in place. The precise lane closure dates will be advised.

Mitre-Suttor-Lambert- Street Roundabout Construction

Council has called tenders for the construction of the Mitre-Suttor-Lambert Street roundabout.

The tenders are currently being assessed and a report is expected be considered by Council in August. The roundabout is being built in response to community concerns and feedback about safety issues at the intersection. CCTV Funding Program

Funding is available to local businesses for CCTV to improve security and community safety. Funding is up to a maximum of $500 on a dollar for dollar basis. Projects must be completed within the current 2019/2020 financial year to be eligible to apply for a grant.

Sporting Association Grants

Grants are available to assist local sporting organisations affiliated with Bathurst Sports Council for works or to purchase equipment. For more information call 6333 6285 or visit www.bathurst.nsw.gov.au. Applications close on Tuesday 24 September.

Bathurst Access Improvement For Small Business Grants

Council in partnership with the Bathurst Regional Access Committee provides

grants to assist local small businesses and non-profit organisations to improve access and inclusion to their place of business/organisation.

Theo Barker Memorial Lecture

The Theo Barker Memorial Lecture will be held at BMEC on 16 August at 6.30pm. This free public lecture, co-hosted by Bathurst District Historical Society and Council, is held every two years in memory of Theo Barker a Bathurst historian.

The lecture, titled “Let’s Do Heritage Differently”, will be presented by Barbara Hickson who has over 22 years’ experience in heritage management. For more information visit www.bathurst.nsw.gov.au
