26 July 2017 - Media release
One of Australia’s favourite storytellers, Kate Forsyth, is coming to the Echuca Library on Monday, 12 August to promote her newly released book - The Blue Rose.
Library Services Manager, Jenny Mustey said library visitors are in for a unique experience with Kate demonstrating how the events of our past still resonate with current times along with the continued importance of fighting to change the world for the better.
“Kate is a highly qualified writer with a BA in literature, an MA in creative writing and doctorate in fairy tale studies along with being an accredited master storyteller with the Australian Guild of Storytellers,” Mrs Mustey said.
Kate was fascinated by revolutionary France since reading The Scarlet Pimpernel as a child. She has always wanted to write a novel set in this period, however it wasn’t until she stumbled across details of the real-life quest to bring red roses to Europe that the seeds of The Blue Rose began to grow.
“Collins Booksellers will be there on the day selling all Kate’s books including the award winning novel, Bitter Greens.”
The event begins at 11am, with essential bookings made online at www.campaspe.vic.gov.au/library or by calling 5481 2400.
