Healthy Living: Breaking bad habits with Heath Daly

Tuesday 6 August, 6 - 7pm Armadale Library

95% of everything you do is because of habits - Aristotle

Health is a process of positive change and continual growth, it is a constant work in progress.

You become healthier not simply by making better decisions, but by repeating the behaviour of those decisions over and over again until they become habit, and a lifestyle.

Anyone can do this and everyone can learn. All that is needed is a desire to change for the better and the ability to imagine what that would feel like.

This session is presented by Heath Daly, co-owner of The Raw Kitchen, and a Naturopath with over 20 years of experience in holistic medicine.

From Slush-Pile to Rush-Pile: Creating Great Fiction

Saturday 10 August, 1 - 3pm Armadale Library

Creating great fiction can be daunting, and yet the writing of a great short story most often involves the mastery of a few key concepts; in depth characterisation, sensory immersion, and implication rather than exposition.

Fortunately, Dr Laurie Steed wants you to write better stories and he's willing to talk through each of these concepts. If you would like to write better, and be in contention for acceptance letters, awards, or acclaim, then come along and be ready to take your writing to the next level.
