Following the enormous popularity of last year’s event, Wollondilly Shire Council will be hosting the Dilly Doggy Day Out again this year, on Saturday 24 August.
The community event will be held from 9am to 1pm at Picton Sportsground off-leash dog area on Fairleys Road, with furry friends invited to join in the fun with their owners.
Wollondilly Mayor Matthew Deeth said, “This is a great occasion for local families and animal lovers, featuring stalls with a variety of pet products and services, demonstrations and competitions.”
“The humans won’t be forgotten - there will also be a sausage sizzle and coffee available for them,” he said.
Council’s special guest on the day will be Dr Katrina Warren, a vet and TV personality best known for her work on Harry’s Practice and more recently the Today Show.
Katrina has travelled around Australia with the fantastic Wonderdogs, a team of border collies, providing entertainment and education for the public.
At the Dilly Doggy Day Out, Katrina will be joined by her Wonderdogs to perform demonstrations, give information talks, meet the locals and provide photo opportunities.
Fashionable pooches should come in their finest outfits for the Doggy Fashion Parade, where Katrina will be judging some of the best dressed as well as the best trick competitions.
Another great drawcard will be the free dog microchipping available on the day. For cat owners, Council will also be offering free cat microchipping at the Animal Shelter on Wonga Road.
Dog groomers and veterinarian services will be at the Doggy Day Out, along with representatives from local obedience training and puppy schools.
Spaces are still available for stallholders. If you would like to be a stallholder at the event this year please fill in the stallholder form.
