Community groups within the Cessnock Local Government Area (LGA) can now apply for funding under Council’s 2019/20 Dollar for Dollar Grants Scheme.
The Grant Scheme is about supporting community, cultural, sporting and environmental projects that improve and enhance community life in our LGA.
Council believes in investing in the community and recognises the invaluable contribution that community groups make to our social well-being, economic advancement, environmental improvement and the development of a vibrant community.
Council currently offers four Dollar for Dollar Grant Schemes:
Sporting Facilities Community Facilities Community & Cultural Development Sustainable Communities - Tidy TownsCouncil has $20,000 available within the Sporting Facilities Dollar for Dollar Grant Scheme and $20,000 in the Community Facilities Dollar for Dollar Grant Scheme to distribute to sporting and community groups. All applicants for Sporting and Community Facilities grants must contact Council’s Recreation & Community Liaison Officer Kate Hicks on 4993 4234 prior to lodging an application.
Council has $25,000 available within the Community and Cultural Development Dollar for Dollar Grant Scheme to distribute to not-for-profit community, arts and cultural groups. All applicants must contact Council’s Community and Cultural Engagement Officer Jo Miller on 4993 4258 prior to lodging an application.
Council has $10,000 available within the Sustainable Communities - Tidy Towns dollar for dollar grant scheme to distribute to not-for-profit community environmental groups to undertake projects that make ‘on the ground’ improvements to the local environment, encourage community pride and promote a positive community image. All applicants must contact Council’s Sustainability Officer Tricia Donnelly on 4993 4239 prior to lodging an application
