Cyclists, pedestrians and drivers using Bridge Street to access Larkin Parade and the wharf will all benefit after the completion of works to construct a shared pathway and associated road traffic changes, in consultation with local residents.
The works, which start soon, will complement the new wharf currently under construction by providing cyclists and pedestrians with safer access to and from the Bellarine Rail Trail, and by resolving traffic flow issues for drivers.
From the end of August, Larkin Parade will be one-way for motorists turning left from Bay Street to access Bridge Street.
This change is intended to make traffic flows much clearer while providing cyclists and pedestrians with a safer connection between the Bellarine Rail Trail and Larkin Parade.
Traffic management measures will be in place over the next few weeks while these works are underway.
