Death is challenging for all of us. How do we die a good death; one that is consistent with our values and wishes? How do we support those who are dying, caring or grieving?
The inaugural Living and Dying: Let’s Talk workshop in Portarlington on Thursday 8 August aims to answer these and many other questions about death, dying and bereavement.
Presented by the Geelong Cemeteries Trust as part of this year’s Dying to Know Day, the free workshop focuses on encouraging people to openly discuss their death wishes and to learn more about local care and support services.
Guest speakers include local palliative care specialist Dr David Brumley who will speak about the Compassionate Communities model.
The event will incorporate networking and expo stands, lunch, workshops, meditation and opportunities to ask questions about death and grief in a relaxed atmosphere over a coffee, tea or something stronger.
