Last week it was announced major recycling provider SKM had ceased recycling household goods for 32 local Councils.
This decision does not affect City of Greater Dandenong as we have a contract with Polytrade, an alternate provider, who processes all of our household recyclables. All of these recyclables are processed and turned into new products.
For recycling to be successful we require an all of community approach to ensure everyone is doing the right thing and only putting recyclables in the yellow bin.
Household rubbish and other items incorrectly disposed of in the recycling bin can ruin recycling and cause contamination problems in the recycling process.
We thank our residents for doing the right thing when it comes to recycling and helping to sort out our future together.
