Truganina East will soon be home to a new centre that will provide local families in the fast-growing suburb with access to a range of services.
Construction is progressing well on the state-of-the-art facility, with works on track for a late 2019 completion.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw, who also holds the Family Friendly City portfolio, said the $6.4 million Wyndham City project was much-needed by the local community.
“The steel installation at the centre is nearing completion, and roofing installation and wall framing works are currently underway,” Cr Shaw said.
“Once complete, this centre will offer a range of services to the local community, including early education care, maternal and child health, and specialist support services for children.”
“With more than 90 babies born a week here in Wyndham, it’s important that we provide the services needed to ensure these babies get the best possible start in life. That’s exactly what the Truganina East Integrated Family Centre will do.”
“Truganina is the fourth fastest growing suburb in Victoria. In the 2017-18 financial year, the suburb welcomed 2,975 new residents – an increase of 11.9 per cent. This new centre will help to service the needs of this growing community.
