Mount Isa event winners Kerrie Rule Pittsworth) and Conrad McElligott (Mount Isa)

Kerrie Rule and Conrad McElligott were the lucky duo snapping up the last of the orange blazers after posting an impressive 45 stableford points to take out their respective sections.

After narrowly missing out on a count-back in Winton, Rule now has matching jackets with her husband Robert who picked up his garment earlier this week at Boulia.

“Thank you very much. I’m almost a little bit speechless, almost. It’s been an absolutely awesome experience. Mount Isa was just amazing.”

New to the winner’s circle is local member Conrad McElligott who has juggled playing golf and assisting the club in hosting the event.

“I’ve never won a jacket before! Thank you to every that has travelled to Mount Isa, you’ve made it a really good day. All the volunteers that we have in the club and the greenskeepers has done a great job so thanks again.”

McElligott posted a tournament best 9-hole score today with an impressive 26 points off a 31 handicap.

Mount Isa participants enjoy two nights of entertainment with the dinner under the stars.  Last night attendees were welcomed to country by the Sundowners and then had a great laugh thanks to Gold Coast comedian Steve Allison.  The main act, cabaret sensation Catherine Alcorn kept guests enthralled with her razor sharp wit and magnificent vocals.

Players will enjoy an afternoon off now to recharge before they tee it up for the much anticipated “Million Dollar Hole-In-One” challenge on the modified 18th hole tomorrow afternoon.
