The life and music of the legendary Dame Julie Andrews will be celebrated in one glorious stage production in the Innisfail Shire next Tuesday (August 13) at 10am when Cassowary Coast Regional Council presents Morning Melodies’ Practically Perfect – The Music of Julie Andrews.
Karla Hillam and her leading man Jonathan Guthrie-Jones will give a stage performance that is, well, practically perfect.
Dame Julie Andrews has graced the stage and screen for generations and is fondly remembered for her role as Maria in The Sound of Music, and the wonderful nanny in Mary Poppins.
Featuring some of her best known songs from shows such as Mary Poppins, My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music, Victor Victoria and more, and interwoven with stories of her life on and off the stage, Practically Perfect will take you on an all singing, all dancing journey from the West End to Broadway and on to Hollywood.
Beautiful costumes and extraordinary dancing, together with some of the most memorable music ever written and sung, feature in this exquisite musical tribute to a living legend which will thrill and delight audiences of all ages.
The production is brought to you by the team behind the blockbusters shows, A Fine Romance, The Magic of Fred Astaire, Just a Couple of Song and Dance Men, and A Night in Vegas. It is written and produced by Margaret Fisk and directed by James Cutler, with choreography by Jeremy Hinman and musical arrangements by Martine Wengrow, design by Christina Logan-Bell and Lighting design by Brooke Van Eerden.
Cassowary Coast Regional Council has a wonderful program of Morning Melodies and other entertainment lined up, with ticket options including a $16 pre-paid ticket for individual shows (save 20 per cent) and $20 at the door.
