Snowy Monaro Regional Council has engaged GHD Pty Ltd as a design consultant for the replacement of the major sewage pumping station on Timor Street, Bombala and associated network upgrades.

This contract involves both an options study and detailed design of the sewerage network in Bombala. As part of this process, investigative geotechnical test pits and boreholes need to be excavated to confirm the suitability of the substrate where the new pump stations and pipework may be constructed.

This is a mandatory investigation to complete the options assessment and the detailed design of this upgrade project. These pits and boreholes are typical of small diameter (less than 300mm) and will be reinstated immediately after the drilling/excavation.

The geotechnical team from GHD Pty Ltd will carry out the works between Monday 5 August to Friday 9 August 2019 and it is expected minimal to nil disruption/disturbance to residents by this activity as it is within road reserves and Council land.

A traffic control plan will be in place when the work is being undertaken, however, Council would like to advise residents of Bombala to be aware and drive safely around any workers operating next to the road over these days.

Enquires may be directed to Council’s Capital Works Engineer – Water and Wastewater, John Booker on 1300 345 345.
