Environmental health officers routinely collect discarded syringes throughout the municipality upon receipt of reported incidents.

We also provide an after-hours on-call collection service for the same.

We do not inspect public spaces for disposed syringes, however, the outdoor crews are equipped with appropriate sharps collection kits and if they happen across any disposed syringes, will collect them for appropriate disposal.

 This service has been in place for many years.
