Hertz Mount Isa has been announced as a finalist in the Motor Trades Association of Queensland industry awards. Owners Alison and Terry Dowling will compete against two other finalists, RHD Classic Supplies and Services (Aitkenvale) and Keema Automotive Group (Springwood) for the MTA Community Award which is presented to an individual or member business who are a role model in their community. Ms Dowling said they were thrilled to be listed as a finalist. "I was surprised and delighted," she said. "We are a very small local business and we have been in business for 12 years now and been a big part of the local community. "We have worked very hard over the years to keep engaging in community, we both volunteer and love giving back to the community that supports us." Over the last few years Hertz Mount Isa has supported events like Boulia Community Markets, Camooweal Drovers Festival, Barkly Beef Dinner, Phantom's Basketball and Little Athletics in Townsville. "If every business could just contribute a little bit, and a lot of businesses do, it would assist community greatly," Ms Dowling said. "Sometimes you just need a little bit of extra help towards someones good idea, and it goes a long way." Winner will be announced in November in Brisbane.
