It was lovely to see so many people take the opportunity to provide feedback at the proposed Rail Trail feasibility study consultation evenings held throughout the region last week. There was some great discussions, outlining possible opportunities and challenges that will need to be considered as the feasibility study is developed.
Council, in conjunction with the Office of Environment & Heritage (OEH), is encouraging Snowy Monaro residents that the NSW Heritage Grants program, is again making available a total of $20,000 for works to be undertaken on heritage items listed in Schedule 5 of the Cooma-Monaro Local Environmental Plan 2013, Bombala Local Environmental Plan 2012 or Snowy River Local Environmental Plan 2013 (LEPs).
Application forms and guidelines are now available on Council’s website and must be submitted by close of business Friday 6 September 2019.

The RMS has advised that work on Coolumbooka Bridge on Cathcart Road is anticipated to commence on Monday 26 August, weather pending. The bridge is likely to be closed to traffic between 7am and 6pm weekdays and 8am and 1pm Saturdays for six weeks while the piles are installed on the bridge. Information advising of a detour during these closure times will be in circulated leading up to the commencement of the project.
In an effort to enhance customer service and make it easier for residents to meet with a Development Engineer to seek advice, times have been scheduled at each of our offices to provide an opportunity for you to drop in and speak directly to staff.
