The leaders of tomorrow are being sought to put their hand up to join the Tamworth regional Youth Council.

With the current 12 month term of the youth council to end soon, Expressions of Interest are now open for the next group.

Socially conscious young leaders between the ages of 15 and 18 who live in the Tamworth Region are eligible to sit on the Youth Council. Expressions of Interest can be made using an online form before 10 September 2019.

Current members of the Youth Council are: Emily Madirazza, Josh Turner, Lauren Hutchinson, Molly Moroney, Ollie Keft-Gill, Therasa Milaor and Thomas Sarungallo.

Some of the projects they have been involved in include a skate deck design competition as part of the Viaduct Park Youth Recreation Hub opening, supported Sustainable North West’s  Amazing EnviroRace, held the region’s first Silent Disco as part of Youth Week 2019 and worked to raise awareness of mental health issues among young people.
