The Member for Goulburn, Wendy Tuckerman is encouraging Goulburn electorate residents to highlight the brilliant women in their personal and professional lives, with nominations now open for the 2020 NSW Women of the Year Awards.
“So many local women pour their heart and soul into their careers, families and volunteer work, strengthening and enriching our community,” Mrs Tuckerman said.
“These women are inspiring role models for all young women and girls in our region and it’s time we show them that they are appreciated. I urge all of our residents to spend a few minutes on a nomination and let the women in their lives know they are valued.”
Minister for Women Bronwyn Taylor said the Awards, which will celebrate their ninth year in 2020, recognise women who have demonstrated excellence in business and society or made outstanding contributions to their community.
“I urge everyone to submit a nomination and recognise the many brilliant women and young women who are achieving so much in their fields in NSW, and making our communities stronger, Ms Taylor said.
“Women from all walks of life make significant contributions to their communities while overcoming gender inequality, raising families, and pursuing careers in male dominated fields. This is your chance to recognise these women and let them know their hard work does not go unnoticed.”
Women can be nominated in seven award categories:

Winners will be announced at an Awards ceremony at the International Convention Centre Sydney on Thursday, 5 March 2020, ahead of International Women’s Day.
