Council is inviting feedback on the draft master plan for Kyneton Airfield, which proposes a vision for the future of this unique facility.
The master plan has been informed by previous extensive community consultation. It includes safeguarding guidelines to ensure development of the airfield remains appropriate and sustainable.
The master plan proposes a range of sustainable development within the footprint of the existing site.
Key improvements proposed for the airfield including additional hangars, upgrades to existing infrastructure and additional capacity for aviation maintenance and other activities on the site.
Upgrades to the Kyneton Aero Club building will ensure the airfield can cater appropriately for additional users during emergencies such as bushfires. Supplementary apron areas for aircraft parking of visiting aircraft are also proposed.
Once adopted, the Kyneton Airfield Master Plan will be the blueprint for all development at the site into the future.
The consultation will open on Monday 12 August and will run for six weeks, closing on Sunday 22 September 2019.
