Next week is National Science Week and Cessnock City Library is presenting some great FREE Science based talks and workshops.
Geological Survey NSW will be presenting a fossil rock workshop for kids at Kurri Kurri Library on Tuesday 13 August from 4pm to 5pm. Kids will be able to check out fossils, rocks and maps. There will be a fossil dig, paper models of ancient sea creatures and volcanoes, and colouring-in. Kids can even make their own fossil to take home!
On Wednesday 14 August, from 6pm to 7pm at Cessnock Library, Geological Survey NSW will present a fascinating FREE talk for adults: ‘What Lies Beneath – An Introduction to the Geology and Rocks of the Hunter Valley Area.’
On Thursday 15 August 5.30pm to 6.30pm at Cessnock Library, Alex Morris will present a FREE ‘Climate Reality’ talk. Alex Morris is a member of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps who recently attended Al Gore's Climate Reality Conference in Brisbane.
