If you have driven along Yass Valley Way recently you may have noticed some construction work at the Old Yass Sale yards. Council have recently begun the construction of the Yass to Murrumbateman Pipeline, a major infrastructure project that once completed will ensure guaranteed water security to the steadily growing village of Murrumbateman.
Council have awarded $19,000 in funding to six community groups and organisations under Council’s 2019/20 Heritage Grants Program. Our Heritage Grants Program is a wonderful way for us to provide assistance to help undertake projects that enhance positive community attitudes towards heritage and conservation and support maintenance projects to ensure their long term survival.
With the recent departure of General Manager Sharon Hutch, Council have begun the recruitment process for a new General Manager. An outside agency will be advertising the position nationwide and conducting initial interviews on Council’s behalf. As part of the final selection process, a shortlist of candidates will be provided to Council and all Councillors will conduct interviews to determine a successful candidate.
