Exhibition examines river's beauty and fragility

Artist Chris Ellis presents Moments on the Murray, a series of recent large-scale oil paintings created in the studio from photos, sketches and watercolour studies.

His motivation is to grow awareness of the river's environmental challenges and the need to manage it carefully for a sustained future.

Ellis is the first local artist to have held two solo exhibitions at MAMA since the museum reopened in 2015.
