Cessnock and Kurri Kurri Libraries will be holding lantern and Regent Honeyeater mask making workshops in the first week of September in the lead-up to the Spring Awakening Festival this year.
Come along, make a beautiful paper lantern, or a regent honeyeater mask (or both!), and join us for this year’s lantern parade to the Festival.
Council’s Library Services Co-ordinator, Rose-marie Walters said Spring Awakening is a magical event for our community and the library loves holding these workshops to help people get ready for the festivities.
“On the night of Spring Awakening, families can also visit the library fairies at the Cessnock City Library storytelling tent.”
The lantern making workshops are from 4pm to 5pm and will be held at Cessnock Library on Monday 2 September and at the Kurri Kurri Library on Tuesday 3 September.
The mask-making workshop will be at Cessnock Library on Wednesday 4 September, 4pm to 5pm.
All materials and tools will be provided. Bookings are essential, as places are limited! Book online at libraries.cessnock.nsw.gov.au or by calling Cessnock Library on 49934399 or Kurri Kurri Library on 49371638.
