Competing for funding opportunities for community and not-for-profit organisations can be tough and Bega Valley Shire Council’s Grant Management Officer, April Merrick, is keen to share what she knows about successfully applying for funding.
Ms Merrick will be running three grant writing workshops in Bega, Bermagui and Tura over the next few months to line up with the current Mumbulla Foundation grant round (closes 27th September).
“My aim with the workshops is to make sure people leave with the techniques they need to put together a successful application.
“Both beginner grant writers and those who want to refresh their knowledge and skills will benefit from the workshop,” Ms Merrick said.
Each workshop will include the following topics:
An overview of grants Where to find grant/funding opportunities How to develop a great project How to write a winning application.An attendee at one of Ms Merrick’s grant writing workshops held earlier this year said, “April provided good advice and guidance on how we can improve our approach to applying for grants.”
The following workshops are free and run for three hours starting at 10.00am:
