Survey reviews Council’s performance

Council has shown improvement in key areas according to the results of the 2019 Customer Satisfaction Survey of residents.

The Local Government Community Satisfaction Survey is an independent annual phone survey which measures residents’ perceptions of the performance of their local council. The independent survey is conducted by Local Government Victoria on behalf of councils across Victoria and participation is optional. Results are benchmarked against a state-wide average and similar local government areas, with Macedon Ranges classified as a large rural shire.

The 2019 Macedon Ranges results are generally positive, with favourable results in a majority of individual service areas. Across the 24 individual service measures, improvement has been noted in 14 areas, and Council is ranked significantly higher than other large rural shires in relation to waste management.

Director Corporate Services, John Hausler said the survey was one of a number of opportunities every year for Council to receive feedback from the community.

“It’s great to see our waste management ranking so highly, as this is a challenging space at the moment given the recycling crisis in the industry,” Mr Hausler said.

“Every year we look at what our community is telling us through these survey results and we look to where we can improve in delivering services to better meet the community’s needs.”
