Organic produce pop-up coming to Freshie

Organic leafy greens, fruit, veggies, yoghurt and more will now be available to the Freshwater community in a four-week trial kicking off on Sunday 25 August.

The pop-up market stalls will be put on by a family-run Northern Beaches business, the Organic Scarecrow, on Sundays from 8am to 1pm from the lawn of the Harbord Literary Institute Building (next to the Aboriginal Heritage Office).

Council acknowledges that there has been a huge demand from the local community for fresh produce, due to former businesses including the IGA and the Harbord Growers moving on.

Council has long supported bringing markets to the Northern Beaches; we also value the relationships we have with local businesses and how important they are to our community. By listening to businesses and supporting this market trial, we hope to have found a solution which benefits the whole community and further enhances Freshwater Village.

So while you’re picking up your fresh fruit and veggies, wander around the village and visit the fantastic local businesses for your meat, bread, coffee or homewares.
