The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) would like to advise that the Bruce Highway at the Burdekin River Bridge, Home Hill will be temporarily closed. This closure will allow for the removal and replacement of two overhead link beams, which allow the gantry to move along the bridge.
This work will enable TMR to inspect the beams and determine if there is a need to remove and replace the remaining beams which were installed approximately 10 years ago.
The works will be undertaken at night due to the high daytime traffic volumes, and so the work can be completed as quickly and safely as possible.
Motorists will not be able to travel on the Bruce Highway at this location during the times of closure:
From 8.00pm Sunday 18 August to 3.00am Monday 19 August 2019An opportunity will exist to reopen the Bruce Highway between:
11.30pm to 12.45am to all for mill shift changeover and clear queued trafficMore information about the temporary can be found in the attached flyer.
