Experience nature this Biodiversity Month

​September is Biodiversity Month and to celebrate, residents can pick-up free native plants and learn gardening skills from Saturday 31 August.

Mayor Khal Asfour said the Spring Native Plant Giveaway would be the first in a series of environment-themed activities.

“Becoming a greener council means not only making improvements to man-made elements of CBCity, but also appreciating the natural elements that enrich our lives every day,” he said.

“It’s important we pay attention to our environment and learn about the flora, fauna and natural resources around us.

“I encourage all residents to look at what’s on offer during Biodiversity Month and get out and experience local nature.”

To receive up to four native plants per household, residents can visit Earlwood and Bankstown Library and Knowledge Centres, and Riverwood Library and Community Hub, from Saturday 31 August until Friday 6 September.
