The State Government has announced round two of the Regional Economic Development (RED) Grants Program and is encouraging local businesses to get involved and apply for grant funding.
The State Government is investing $28.8 million over five years (2018/19 to -2022/23) in community-driven projects to create jobs, drive economic development and expand and diversify industry in the regions.
Round one RED Grants funding for the Kimberley region totalled $655,946 and supported ten projects including the development of a bush ‘super food’ and commercial planning for hemp.
Round two funding is now open and closes on 13 September 2019.
Kimberley Development Commission chair James Brown said he encouraged the local community to take advantage of this positive investment commitment to grow our region.
“The Kimberley Development Commission will be working with the community to look for opportunities to capitalise on growth and expansion potential with the funding support available through the RED Grants program,” he said.
The RED Grants Program guidelines and application information for round two are available on the Commission website www.kdc.wa.gov.au
