The Seniors Social and Wellbeing Program is designed for people aged 60 and over, and consists of physical and social activities facilitated by experienced fitness professionals from the Aqua Jetty in a friendly group setting.
The program is delivered at two locations across the City. The Baldivis Recreation Centre on Fifty Road hosts activities for the program on Mondays from 10am – 11.30am and on Wednesdays from 9am – 10.30am.
It is also delivered at the Coastal Community Centre in Golden Bay on Tangadee Road on Mondays and Fridays from 9am – 10.30am.
City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels said the program offered seniors a fantastic opportunity to boost their physical and mental health.
“The Seniors Social and Wellbeing Program was first rolled out in May 2018 and has proven to be a big hit with seniors across the community,” Mayor Sammels said.
“Seniors are able to interact with each other in a friendly environment and enjoy some light exercises and activities designed to boost their fitness.
"Each session is conducted under the watchful eye of trainers specially trained in senior’s fitness and is capped off with morning tea and coffee.
“I encourage any seniors in the community who are looking to boost their physical and mental health to get involved in the City’s Seniors Social and Wellbeing Program.”
Bookings are not required for the program. For more information contact the Aqua Jetty on 9591 0888 or via email.
