Friday, August 23 – Sunday, August 25, 2019 In celebration of the new Council Outdoor Gallery exhibition Women’s Work curated by Brisbane Art Matriarchs! (BAM!) we will be projecting Tori-Jay Mordey’s Siblings 2 onto the William Jolly Bridge from 21-25 August 2019. Tori-Jay Mordey is an emerging Indigenous Australian illustrator and artist currently based in Brisbane. Her work has been exhibited and published nationally for clients including SBS and Brisbane’s G20 Summit. Siblings 2 is a combination of copper etching prints that features a portrait of Tori-Jay and her brother with parts of their faces harmoniously merged with their parents. “Growing up in a diverse family with our mother being Torres Strait Islander and our father being English, it became clear to me how different we all were, but at the same time I wanted to emphasise how similar we are too. Because it’s not as simple as saying we’re different because of skin colour.” For more information about the Women’s Work artists and artwork, visit the Outdoor Gallery page.
