Community groups and organisations within the Gannawarra have eight days to finalise applications and submit them through Gannawarra Shire Council’s annual Community Grants program.
The popular program will provide up to $5,000 per successful application to support local projects, events and activities.
“Numerous community groups and organisations have already made contact with Council regarding the program,” Mayor Lorraine Learmonth said.
“Council thanks those groups who have already submitted their application and encourages organisations still considering applying to do so as soon as possible.”
Grant applications can be submitted through the online SmartyGrants system, accessible via Council’s website, under the following categories:

“Groups looking to apply for funding are urged to first refer to the Council Plan, which can be viewed on Council’s website, and their relevant community profile to ensure their project complements the priorities of the community and Council,” Mayor Learmonth said.
“Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact Council to discuss a project idea before submitting a grant application.”
Applications close at 5pm on Saturday, 31 August 2019.
