RedInk Homes have been recognised by the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale as ‘Builder of the Quarter’ for their efforts in minimising the impact of building dust and waste on the local environment.
In 2017, the Shire created its Dust and Building Waste Local Law to ensure builders were disposing of building site waste and materials correctly.
In the 2018/19 financial year, the Shire issued 955 building permits, all of whom are required to comply with the local law.
Shire President Michelle Rich said the Builder of the Quarter initiative was about recognising companies for demonstrating excellence in relation to management and disposal of building site waste.
“With the significant growth and development in the Shire, we started to see an increase in issues relating to the impact building site waste and dust in the community,” Cr Rich said.
“Through the development and implementation of the local law, Shire rangers have been working with building companies to inform them of their responsibilities, while at the same time ensuring our streets and environment remain free from unwanted rubbish.”
Cr Rich recently presented RedInk Homes with the ‘Builder of the Quarter’ certificate.
“On behalf of the Shire, congratulations to RedInk Homes for their work in managing their building site waste materials during the period of April – June 2019,” Cr Rich said.
Residents concerned about building site waste or rubbish can report it to the Shire by calling 9526 1111 or emailing [email protected]
