Wyndham school leavers, families and everyone seeking a career change are in for a treat at The Future of Work event at Plaza Library next month.
Wyndham City Libraries and YouthNow have invited local employers, education providers and community organisations to share their experiences and help potential employees discover the range of options on offer.
Learning City portfolio holder Cr Josh Gilligan said the careers day was a great opportunity for anyone entering the workplace or considering a career change.
“A panel of experts from the business world, government, academia, and education will share their insights around the theme The Future of Work,” Cr Gilligan said.
“The panel includes Wyndham City Council Talent Acquisition Lead Aaron Hussey, Director of Key Business Advisors, Colin Wilson, Creative Director of Light and Glo Designs Dr Suji Sanjeevan, University of Melbourne Associate Professor Dan Woodman, Business Development Manager of AVA Services Group Antoinette Fava and Director and Co-founder, Hoodic Silva Wei.”
“Jobseekers and those beginning or changing their career path will have the chance to ask these experts questions after they share their ideas and experience with the audience.” “Residents will also have the opportunity to try out new technology, take a careers quiz, receive resume help, and learn what jobs are available to them”.
Stallholders include Wyndham City’s Talent Acquisition team, Deakin University, Victoria University, Polytechnic, Victoria Police, Wyndham Tech, The Huddle and Kulture Hive.
They will be on hand to provide information about careers and training available to jobseekers.
The event will be held at Plaza Library on 5th September from 4.30pm to 8pm.
