The drive along a busy Hoppers Crossing road is about to get a whole lot easier, with works wrapping up on the duplication of Forsyth Road.

The number of lanes along Forsyth Road, between Ashcroft Avenue/Old Geelong Road and Sayers Road in Hoppers Crossing have gone from two to four, as part of a $7.5 million Wyndham City project.

Wyndham City Mayor, and Growth and Transport portfolio holder, Cr Mia Shaw, said the completion of works meant that the roads are now safer and that drivers would spend less time sitting in traffic.

“The road has now been duplicated, and we’ve also built a signalised intersection at Waterways Boulevard. A pedestrian crossing has also been installed at the Federation Trail crossing,” Cr Shaw said.

“We know that Forsyth Road is an important part of our local road network. The road acts as a link to the freeway interchange on one side, and as a connection to arterial roads on the other side.”

“With growth surrounding Forsyth Road leading to high levels of traffic congestion, and the State Government’s works to upgrade the freeway interchange taking place, it was important for us to deliver these works as soon as possible.”

“This project has been completed on time and on budget, demonstrating our commitment to building the infrastructure our community needs.”
